De Quervain's Tendinosis

De Quervain's tendinosis occurs when the tendons around the base of the thumb are irritated or constricted. The word "tendinosis" refers to a swelling of the tendons. Swelling of the tendons, and the tendon sheath, can cause pain and tenderness along the thumb side of the wrist. This is particularly noticeable when forming a fist, grasping or gripping something, or when turning the wrist.

Causes

De Quervain's tendinosis may be caused by overuse. It also is associated with pregnancy and rheumatoid disease. It is most common in middle-aged women.

Symptoms

Signs of De Quervain's tendinosis:

• Pain may be felt over the thumb side of the wrist. 
• Swelling may be seen over the thumb side of the wrist. 
• A "catching" or "snapping" sensation may be felt when moving the thumb.
• Pain and swelling may make it difficult to move the thumb and wrist.

Bile is a fluid produced by the liver and is made up of several substances, including cholesterol, bilirubin, and bile salts.

What Are Gallstones?

Gallstones are pieces of solid material that form in the gallbladder. These stones develop because cholesterol and pigments in bile sometimes form hard particles.

The two main types of gallstones are:

Gout

Gout is characterized by sudden, severe attacks of pain, redness and tenderness in joints, often the joint at the base of the big toe.

Gout — a complex form of arthritis — can affect anyone. Men are more likely to get gout, but women become increasingly susceptible to gout after menopause

The signs and symptoms of gout are almost always acute, occurring suddenly — often at night — and without warning. They include:

• Intense joint pain. Gout usually affects the large joint of your big toe, but it can occur in your feet, ankles, knees, hands and wrists. The pain is likely to be most severe within the first 12 to 24 hours after it begins.
• Lingering discomfort. After the most severe pain subsides, some joint discomfort may last from a few days to a few weeks. Later attacks are likely to last longer and affect more joints.
• Inflammation and redness. The affected joint or joints become swollen, tender and red.

Pile

Piles / Haemorrhoids

Haemorrhoids, also known as piles, are swellings that contain enlarged blood vessels that are found inside or around the bottom (the rectum and anus).

Most haemorrhoids are mild and sometimes don't even cause symptoms. When there are symptoms, these usually include: 

• bleeding after passing a stool (the blood will be bright red)
• itchy bottom 
• a lump hanging down outside of the anus, which may need to be pushed back in after passing a stool

Symptoms of piles (haemorrhoids) 

Most cases of piles (haemorrhoids) are mild, and the symptoms often disappear on their own after a few days. 

Some people may not even realise they have haemorrhoids, as they do not experience symptoms.

Tennis Elbow 

The damage that tennis elbow incurs consists of tiny tears in a part of the tendon and in muscle coverings.
